I don't care where he runs as long as it isn't for any position in  NYS.

It will be interesting to see what accomplishments Mr. Godlewski will use in his campaign. I don't know of any off hand. All I know is when he sets out to 'block' some new advancement or infrustructure or updating...he clearly accomplishes that!!!!!

I guess that Bob will just have to say that he stopped all progress from going forward in the Town of Rotterdam while he was on the Town Boar

We have to move forward......stagnation is death....move it or lose it......grab the bull by the horns......if we stop doing we cease existing......

Senders I agree, but how do you get the Town Board to see the urgency in this?

WAKE UP THE WHOLE ENTIRE TOWN TO THE IDEAS AND NEEDS......now just their own backyard.....otherwise we are no different than Walmart and their 'concern' for their neighbors.......

Honestly, I don't know if the town board can actually 'move' the mentality of the 'town folks'.  A lot of the town's mentality is still stuck in the 50's and I swear some think that GE is still here to save them. We live in a very liberal state with government programs for just about everything. And add Walmart and the likes to the mix and the people are just standing there with their hand out...waiting for a hand out! For anyone to benefit from this overly liberal state, you either need to be a public worker or on welfare!

As a Duanesburg resident, I intend to support the re-election campaign of Carolina Lazzari.  Her "no" vote on the "Kosiur's Law" was a display of independent thought and courage & conviction that is rarely, if ever, seen in our elected representatives.  Ms. Lazzari's opposition to this flawed and ill-advised legislation and the adverse impact that it may have on residents of rural areas of the county is a testament to her commitment to serve her constituents.  As further evidence of her service to the people who Ms. Lazzari represents, she regularly attends Duanesburg Town Board meetings.  I have NOT witnessed any of the other legislators of District 4 in attendance at those meetings at which I have been present.  I will gladly be a foot soldier for Ms. Lazzari's re-election campaign.

Lazzari really does care about the people she represents and seldom does she get enough credit for what she does. It was Lazzari who got the grant money to help correct the flooding problem on Sunrise Blvd. If you ask her about a problem you'll get a straight answer and if she says she'll try to help correct the problem that's exactly what she does.

I always thought she was a 'for the people' politician. And I give her tons of credit for hanging in there on that county legislature.

I DO NOT want Bob Goblewski in a seat on the county legislature. Believe me, Robert Godlewski will just ask question after question after question and will get nowhere!!  And we will get even 'less' than what Rotterdam gets now. This is what Robert Godlewski does and that is all he does!!!!

Ms. Lazzarri is one that I also would support.  I went to school with her son and know that she is an upstanding person on the board.  At least that's what I think, I haven't really looked into it, which I really should...and Will.

Town officials, residents knock sex offender law
BY JUSTIN MASON Gazette Reporter
Reach Gazette reporter Justin Mason at 395-3113 or jmason@dailygazette.net

Rotterdam officials held a special meeting Thursday to further discuss the county’s new sex offender residency law.
Though only three Town Board members attended the meeting, about 20 people turned out to voice their opposition to the law.
Supervisor Steve Tommasone echoed the sentiments voiced in other towns.
“If the intent of this law is to protect the kids, then this legislation doesn’t do it,” he said.
Tommasone displayed a map of Rotterdam, circling areas of town where sex offenders could no longer live once the legislation goes into effect in October. Areas along the outskirts of town and to the north in Rotterdam Junction were largely free of the circles.
“Drawing circles on a map doesn’t protect anyone,” he said.
All five of the county’s town supervisors are expected to meet with leaders of the county Legislature this morning to discuss the law. Last month, the supervisors signed a joint statement calling on county leaders to rescind the legislation and work with the all Schenectady municipalities to draft a more comprehensive law.
Discussion over the law also blended into politicking for the upcoming election for the County Legislature. The law became a fl ash point during the recent campaigning for 105th state Assembly District seat,
Conqua Lane resident Angelo Santabarbara, a Republican vying for one of two District 4 seats, spoke critically of those representatives who favored the law in June. Legislators Michael Eidens, Carolina Lazzari and Karen Johnson were the only ones to vote against the law.
“Obviously the policy needed more work and the consequences were not thought out,” he said. “The key concern here is that the local municipalities that were affected the most were not consulted.”
County Republican Chairman Tom Buchanan also spoke against the law and challenged board member Robert Godlewski to clarify his stance toward rescinding it. Godlewski, a Democrat, is also running for a District 4 seat.
After the meeting, Godlewski said he wants to see the outcome of today’s meeting between the supervisors and county leaders.
“Based on that meeeting, we’ll need to decide what we want to do next,” he said. “We’ll see what comes out of that meeting.”

Let us remember this come election day. I'm usually not a fan of Buchanan, but in this instance he did put Bob Godlewski on the spot. And let us remember how Bob Godlewski had 'no opinion' regarding this new sex offender law. He voiced 'no opinion' for the people of Rotterdam. What was the purpose of "We'll see what comes out of that meeting".? It's was a simplle 'yes' or 'no'....Would he have voted for the Ed Kosiur's new sex offender law or would he have voted against it IF he were a county legislature?
Let's remember this people. In my opinion, the answer should have been NO and without hesitation.

It appears as though Mr. Godlewski has not yet been given his talking points/marching orders from his party.  His unwillingness to respond to the questions suggests that he is incapable of independent thought, he will align his position to that which proves to be most popular, or that he is uninformed about the legislation and with the arguments against it.  We need elected officials who have courage and conviction and who will convey their positions on important issues that affect Schenectady County regardless of whether or not they are popular.

Bob stays right in the middle of the road and has nothing good to say about anything that requires change, He's just going to go along with whatever the Dems on the county council want or he'll just say we need to study it further. If Bob gets elected he will just do as he's done in Rotterdam, nothing but act as a roadblock to progress and improvement.
