When the REMS went from an all volunteer service administered by the fire departments to a paid ALS service administered by the police department they went from a service to a business and run all the risks that a business encounters, make a profit or go bankrupt. The costs to the taxpayer will go up each year as the salaries and equipment costs continue to rise.

I saw the Town Board meeting on TV recently, and del Gallo gave his word that the ambulance issues would be up for a referendum vote in the November election.  Let's see if Godlewski changes anything before then!

Correct, FDG gave his word that REMS would be on the ballot in November and today's article quoted Godlewski as saying the referendum would be in June.

So who is running the show?

I give them credit for doing the right thing, allow the residents to make the decision for themselves. Hopefully they'll be able to get some helpful information out to the residents to help educate them so they are able to vote in an educated way.

I have not made my decision yet on this topic, I am waiting for some more information so I can make an informed decision.

The real question is how much will it cost to fund the REMS?

I'm with you on that PG...it seems like there are a lot of details that require research on the part of the taxpayer.  What do you think about del Gallo backing out on his promise of a November vote?

I don't know which way you are referring, 1) him incorrectly saying Nov instead of June or 2) having a June vote instead of November because some perceive June to benefit REMS because of a lower voter turnout.

Has the date been officially set? I personally would hope for a November election due to costs and voter turnout. Does it need to be in June so proper planning can be put in place for 2011 or to avoid major expenditures for REMS...

I'm not critical on the small things with DelGallo. He is as far away from a politician as it gets and someone that is around his age and never around politics, what did people think when they voted for him? To me, they wanted a change in leadership and wanted someone who they trust to do the right thing. Time will tell and I will give him a chance to feel his way around before I become critical. It has only been a month.

The elected supervisor (aka puppet) said "referendum in November" - that's what I'm going on, not some wannabe deputy.

It better be in november. I believe salomone asked fdg a couple of times and fdg said 'yes' every time he was asked about a nov. vote. It's 'on the record'.

And it is obvious that bob no change, is running, or at least trying, to run the circus show!
