weekend DWI stops

    ROTTERDAM — Three people were arrested by Rotterdam police on Friday and Saturday evenings during a St. Patrick’s Day sweep.
    Samuel Gidley, 33, of Long Pond Village was stopped on West Campbell Road and charged with felony driving while intoxicated, aggravated felony DWI and operating an unregistered motor vehicle. Gidley has three prior DWI arrests.
    Lawton E. Woodruff, 45, of Washington Street in Saratoga Springs was arrested after allegedly failing to stop for offi cers at the checkpoint on West Campbell Road. Officers followed Woodruff for about two miles before he was able to be stopped. He was charged with driving while intoxicated and failing to comply with a lawful order to stop.
    Garrett Thompson, 19, of Meghan Boulevard in Rotterdam was also stopped at the checkpoint for allegedly driving under the influence of marijuana. He was charged with misdemeanor driving while ability impaired by drugs.

Gotta give the Rotterdam boys credit - they sure seem to make a LOT of arrests.  Granted, most of it is city scum migrating into Rotterdam, but this topic is updated regularly with a healthy list of apprehensions.  Congrats, and thank you, RPD.
