Build a wall!!!

Why?   Many of these arrests involved petty larceny...I'm guessing this happened at the Rotterdam Square Mall and that would be one of the "commercial" properties Rotterdam brought in to lower the residents' taxes (not!).   And to build a wall would keep people out of our town who maybe aren't at your "level"?  Did you sign the petition against rezoning 325 Duanesburg Rd also?

You're right, these peole are not at my "level". If the truth hurts, too bad. If you want to live among these scumbags, you have that option but I want to keep the criminals out from my town/neighborhood. And no, I didn't sign the petition but I rather see that area turned over to a developer who can bring in new business and new jobs instead of multi-family housing which our town does not need...

Wow, you took that literally.... brilliant. Let me guess Boomer, you would increase welfare and other gov't benefits in order to make these individuals life better so they would not have to resort to committing crimes... Rotterdam better wake up before the cesspool spreads.

Yes PG I would.  Go work with the poor for a week and listen to them.  Better yet go down and have a meal with those in the soup kitchen and hear their stories.  Not everyone wants to be living off the government.  Most want a life of dignity and meaningful work.  I am surprised you would take such a stance.  Looks to me like you have already built your own personal wall.  Too bad.

Absolutely!  There are many though that take advantage of it out of pure laziness.

Well, it is apparent that the government programs are not working.....cause the DSS line is getting longer and there are more non-profits springing up all over schenectady county. Now....either more people are getting 'poorer', schenectady hs the best 'gvie-aways, there aren't enough jobs, or they are just plain LAZY!

And poor must mean that is a license with an excuse to break the law! palleeezzzz!

Again I would invite you all to go to your local soup kitchen and listen to the stories of those who are there.  You won't be at a loss for people.  The soup kitchens are now feeding the "working" poor as well.  Don't go down to the kitchen as a voyeur go there get something to eat and sit with folks.  They only want a hand up.  Many of you are quite cavalier in your response.  Go down there and be present to those guests.  Might help you make a more informed comment.
