Haha...was going to say the same thing shadow. Look at the clusterf$ck of zoning...a town literally sitting on top of a mound of $hit...no main street...no sidewalks. Lots of overdeveloped neighborhoods. Barren strip malls...yeah...if that's Rotterdam's good name, I'd hate to see it when things get worse.

Our beloved Rotterdam needs no help in acquiring a bad name, lack of sewers, infrastructure in need of replacing, water drainage problems, and spot zoning everywhere you look all help to earn it's bad name.

Our town has a lot of great things going for it -- its major problems are the carpers and complainers who are constantly ready to TEAR DOWN their community but you NEVER see them doing anything positive to help BUILD UP the community.  Frankly - you carpers and complainers are a bunch of deadbeat anal orifices .. we could make Rotterdam a better place if you just decided to move someplace else.

Is it Lent yet?

"While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat."

And we need that straw to make bricks! The DEMS can't handle constructive criticism and what's the funniest is that many defenders have already fled. They praise from afar. The whole County needs reindustrialization. New tech parks, new rail lines, new corporate parks for heavy industry. There's just so many nonprofits and "arts" programs the taxpayers can shoulder. The 3 card monty where jobs and business are shuffled Downtown with huge tax giveaways is crushing all property owners. Its a lose-lose and more are waking up.

Rotterdam is a great town to live in .. has many more positives than negatives .. the biggest negatives are thedo-nothing carpers and complainers.

And you obviously don't know me .. because I am not a liberal.

ROTTERDAM
Sewer talks a setback for kids’ games

BY JUSTIN MASON Gazette Reporter

Good news for economic development on Burdeck Street may mean some bad news for the immediate future of the proposed Rotterdam Little League fi elds.
The good news is the 24-building apartment complex project that made the new fields possible could also bring a long-awaited sewer line within reach of prime developable land near Burdeck Street. The bad news is the negotiations over the sewer line have stalled construction of the new fi elds for this coming season, meaning the Little League will need to put thousands of dollars into the existing ones that will eventually be torn down for the apartments.
“It gets frustrating, I’m not going to lie to you,” Little League President Robert Caprara said of the delay.
The existing fields near the old Rotterdam Republican Club need about $10,000 of repair before they can be used this coming season. Caprara said the league was hoping to avoid the work so that the money could be used on the new fields slated for nine acres behind the town’s sewage treatment plant on West Campbell Road.
Construction on the four new fields needed to begin last fall for them to be ready by this season. Negotiations over the sewer line proposal stalled the town’s issuance of a building permit for the apartment project, which is a contingency for the sale of the property to the Little League to build four new fi elds.
The property for the fields is appraised at $600,000, but owner Timothy Larned plans to sell it to the Little League at nearly half price. He plans to cover the difference by seeking credit for a state and federal charitable contribution of $340,000, the difference between the appraised value and the purchase price.
But without full ownership of the fields, the Little League can’t even seek grants for the fields, much less start preliminary work. Caprara said Rotterdam Republican Club owner Tim Larned has assured the Little League that it can use the old fields until the new ones are done.
“But we were hoping last year was our last year there,” he said.
Officials from the town and the county’s Metroplex Development Authority continue to discuss the sewer line with Larned and Mary Esposito, the other land owner involved in the apartment project. Donald Zee, the attorney representing the apartment project, said the negotiations revolve around the fees the developers will need to pay to Rotterdam in order to start construction. .........................>>>>..................>>>>.....................http://www.dailygazette.net/De.....r01105&AppName=1

The Little League cannot apply for grants if they don't own the land...maybe Mr. L will pony up the $10K needed to repair the existing fields.  He can write it off along with the $340K.   Only problem is...the $10K would come from his pocket.

And Mr. Larned is worried about nothing except the lining of his pockets.

I really don't blame larned here. Let's place blame where it squarely belongs........on Judy Dago who single handedly sold the land hoping to make a personal profit to her and her family!!!! PERIOD!!

Larned bought the land and invited the LL to use the land....which they did for years and years.

Now Larned wants to develop the land, which is his property right. He should in no way be held responsible nor expected to put up his own personal $$$  for a LL organization that knew this day would come and made no provisions.

But this is typical rotterdam.........never planning for the future......they just are continuously putting out fires!! Everything is a DRAMA!!!

Maybe the league (aka Copservative Party) can find a way to blame the Republican Party (not club, which was controlled by the Dagostino family) for THIS. I am sure in their minds they can find a way with their famous reasoning capabilities.
