Still waiting to hear from shaggy daggy who was SOOOOO working with the LL and Challengers - and a big proponent of the field, when it was politically advantageous to her
Right MT! Judy Daggy is a big Little League expert. Just ask her. We need her "experience" here! Maybe she can do what she did to the Duanesburg Library? Have a big press conference and never be heard from again-Does she represent the Hilltowns or Downtown?-lol- |

Take a look at those picture the admin posted. Look at the fields. Look at the sponsors' signs. When did they use it last. The town cuts the lawn there. But look at the rest of it. These few politicians just want a political issue and want to keep the Challengers off the fields because they don't like being around them. They were once part of Little League and had the temerity to break off and go on their own. So some of the insiders who pride themselves as being able to throw their weight around with political endorsements want to play this as big bad republicans taking the league fields away (even though they don't use them and don't intend to and Judy will be buying them new fields soon anyway.) But overall it is just a couple of them. The vast majority of parents aren't like that.
No kid should be out in the cold on having a place to play. They all do and all will.
Maybe the new fields the county buys them won't be the swampland they tried in vain to push on them before. They swallowed that one up like birds gulping worms. ACOE didn't agree with Gillen's premise that "there were no wetlands." |

I was a long time officer in the RR Little League. The challengers wanted to break off back then over Moolaah. This broohaha is not going to win or lose an election. Dickershaid is a recent DeGeorgio/Republican deciple. Get it GB? |

Taking politics out of this scenario, the fields do look, to me anyway, deserted. They appear to have not been used in quite a while. Perhaps years. These opinions and pictures, are leading me to believe that there has not been work done or a game played on that field in quite a long time
Now, inserting politics....would the challengers have had the option to use these fields if a dem or con were supervisor? Or would we be lead to believe that it would just be the rll only?
And after all of this hoopala, rumor has it that judy dago just may be planning a pleasant surprise for the rll. I don't know if it is true or not. Ya know how rumors are...not very reliable. In my opinion anyway. |

ROTTERDAM Challengers, Little League reach deal to share fields BY JUSTIN MASON Gazette Reporter
With politics pushed aside, two area baseball leagues have reached an agreement to share Woestina Park this year. The agreement means the Challenger Tri-County Baseball League will be able to use the park’s baseball diamonds Monday through Thursday and on Fridays in the event of rain during the week. The Rotterdam Little League will have use of the fields during the weekends, when typically the Challengers don’t play. As part of the deal, the Challengers indicated they would do work to fix up the park located of Route 5S in Rotterdam Junction. In return, the Little League will be responsible for winterizing the facility once baseball season concludes for the two leagues. “It was really a nice agreement between the guys,” said Rotterdam Town Board member Nicola DiLeva, who helped broker the deal between the two leagues last week. The deal will only last the season but will mean the Challengers, a baseball league for the developmentally disabled, won’t have to lease space near Five Corners as they have in the past. Challengers commissioner Richard Dickershaid was especially pleased to secure the agreement, since the lease on the former fields was set to markedly increase this season. “The bottom line is the kids are going to be able to use the fields,” he said. Little League President Robert Caprara said the agreement would end up benefiting both leagues. He said the Little League could use the extra space because it’s starting a new division this season. “It’s going to work out perfectly for everybody,” he said Tuesday. Town Board members are expected to pass a resolution approving the deal during their meeting this evening . The state Canal Corporation owns the Woestina land and allows the town to use it under a permit. .............>>>>>....................>>>>..................http://www.dailygazette.net/De.....r01001&AppName=1

ROTTERDAM County poised to purchase land for ball fields Site would be permanent home for Little League BY MICHAEL LAMENDOLA Gazette Reporter
Schenectady County is taking another swing at buying land to help the Rotterdam Little League find a permanent home for playing fields. The county Legislature on Monday will consider a proposal to purchase 8.7 acres on Burdeck and Thompson streets in Rotterdam for $260,000. Local developer Tim Larned owns the property. County Attorney Chris Gardner said the county will use money the Legislature set aside in 2006 for capital improvements to parks. He said the deal would only be completed after ensuring that wetlands on the property do not interfere with the construction of three regulation Little League fields. The county also wants to obtain an easement from the town to construct an access road to the fields, Gardner said. “It is exciting. We are bringing this project to a successful conclusion,” he said. “It is not easy to find land in Rotterdam where the Little League has jurisdiction.” Once the sale is completed, the county would lease the land to the Rotterdam Little League for its use, Gardner said. League President Robert Caprara said he is happy with the county’s proposal. “Every year we have been playing, we wondered if this would be our last year playing [at the current fields],” he said. The league is using four fields on Princetown Road for games. Larned owns the land, site of the former Rotterdam Republican Club, and has allowed the Little League to use it for years. But he is now proposing to build 248 apartment units on the 78 acres, which would require the Little League to move at some point. The town has yet to sign-off on Larned’s proposal. ...................>>>>................>>>>....................http://www.dailygazette.net/De.....r01000&AppName=1

HHHHHHHHHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA This county needs a complete cleansing of all political officials from top to bottom!! 260,000 to buy the land 500,000 to build the fields this town could have bought the land years ago if i am sure strings werent attached to it. 260,000 - thats only two years of subsidizing REMS with my tractor, a case of baby powder, an a little league handbook so i get the specs right i could have three fields up and ready in a week. with permenant fields - i am sure this town could easily get some donors and sponsors for some nice back stops. Play ball old school sandlot style, and then let the league grow and build on its own!!! Is it not obvious that DEMS have held the little league, this towns children hostage until they get what they want!!! utterly disgusted with this town........ |

Must admit, they are filthy pigs. Oink-Oink-Oink |
| The most dangerous man to any government is the man who is able to think things out for himself, without regard to the prevailing superstitions and taboos. Almost inevitably he comes to the conclusion that the government he lives under is dishonest, insane and intolerable, and so, if he is romantic, he tries to change it. And even if he is not romantic personally he is apt to spread discontent among those who are. ~ H.L. Mencken |
